Additional Therapies Offered in Madison

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) provides coordinated services for children with autism and related developmental needs.

We believe every child is unique, and the right support can help children learn, grow, and thrive. Some services may be available without an autism diagnosis, depending on your child’s needs and referral recommendations. Families may also choose a single service based on their child’s specific areas of need.

Our clinical team includes psychologists, counselors, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and behavior specialists. Each provider brings expertise in their area and collaborates with other professionals when appropriate to create individualized services that address your child’s strengths, needs, and goals.

Services may support communication, independence, emotional health, and daily living skills across home, school, and community settings. Depending on your child’s needs, services may include occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, or mental health counseling.

At WEAP, our mission is to find success for every child in our care. We provide the support your child needs to build confidence, develop new skills, and thrive at home, at school, and in the community.

Our services include:

Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists help children with developmental delays and disabilities learn to perform activities of daily living, such as eating, dressing, and playing with friends. We’ll focus on play skills, learning strategies, and self-care as part of our multidisciplinary approach to your child’s program.

Speech-Language Therapy
Speech and language development are the foundation for communication skills. It’s also a crucial part of social interactions and academic success. Our speech and language therapists address your child’s unique needs by evaluating their oral motor strength and movement. Our therapists may also suggest using visual support, such as picture cues or other communication tools.

Mental Health Counseling
Our counseling services support the emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of children and teens. Licensed psychologists and counselors use developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approaches, including play therapy, skill-building, and cognitive behavioral strategies. Our family-centered team tailors therapy to each child’s needs and goals, helping them build coping skills, resilience, and confidence.

Our compassionate and dedicated team shares a common interest: to help your child make progress every single day
