LEARN Behavioral, a national leader in autism treatment with a network of applied behavior analysis (ABA) providers across the country, congratulates Rebecca Thompson, PhD, BCBA-D, who has been awarded for her contributions to applied behavior analysis (ABA) in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Association for Behavior Analysis (WisABA) recognized Dr. Thompson with the prestigious award for “Outstanding Contributions to the Field of ABA in Wisconsin” at their conference held on October 2, 2026. WisABA serves as the state affiliate chapter of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and the Association for Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA).

Dr. Thompson’s tenure with the renowned ABA provider Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) and LEARN Behavioral spans more than 25 years. A licensed psychologist, Dr. Thompson holds a board certified behavior analyst-doctoral (BCBA-D) credential.

Dr. Thompson began her career at WEAP in diagnostics and the delivery of ABA services and, over the years, advanced to Director of Clinical Services. In the past two and a half years, Dr. Thompson has led state and federal government affairs efforts as Vice President of Advocacy at LEARN Behavioral.

Along with her leadership roles at WEAP and LEARN Behavioral, Dr. Thompson holds numerous public policy roles, including President of the Wisconsin Autism Providers Association (WAPA) and as an appointed member of the Wisconsin Governor’s Autism Council. She is also President of Illinois Providers for ABA Access and Quality (IPAAQ) and Chair of Massachusetts Providers for ABA Access and Quality (MPAAQ).

“During her career at WEAP and LEARN Behavioral, Rebecca has made a tremendous impact, and we are delighted with the policies and precedent set for LEARN Behavioral and the ABA community,” said Justin Funches, President of LEARN Behavioral’s autism provider network. “Rebecca’s commitment to helping children with autism achieve their full potential, along with her state and federal advocacy, has made a real difference in the lives of countless children and families.”

Dr. Thompson has recently accepted the position of Director of Government Affairs for the Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP), a nonprofit trade association of more than 475 autism service provider organizations from all 50 states and multiple countries. LEARN Behavioral is a member and sponsor of CASP.

“We congratulate Rebecca on her award, and wish her all the best as she steps into an expansive role at CASP supporting public policy across all 50 states. Autism Learning Center Opens Doors in Stevens Point, WI with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

WEAP welcomes families to their new location.

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), provider of LEARN Behavioral, recently held a ribbon-cutting celebration at its new Stevens Point Learning Center at 200 Division Street, Suite D, Stevens Point, WI 54481.

Hosted by the Portage County Business Council, the ribbon-cutting celebration was held on June 11, 2026.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sarah Agena, Community Engagement Coordinator of the Portage County Business Council, along with Senator Patrick Testin, State Representative Vincent Miresse, and Mayor Mike Wiza, shared greetings and remarks. Members of the Portage County Business Council and other guests were in attendance.

Ribbon-cutting attendees toured the facility, enjoyed light refreshments, and met the WEAP Stevens Point leadership team, Cassie Sedlacek, LCSW, Regional Clinical Director, and Erin Junemann, Center Director.

WEAP is Wisconsin’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) provider of center-based autism services for children ages 2 to 6 years old. The Stevens Point Learning Center provides center-based ABA, parent education, Early Intervention, Social Skills Programs, and weekend hours (Saturday Squad). Their center-based services also include a school readiness program.

The Stevens Point Learning Center offers flexible treatment hours to accommodate busy family schedules. There is no waitlist. The center is conveniently located within walking distance to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and easily accessible for families in the region.

WEAP and Total Spectrum are Greenfield’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) providers of center-based autism services for children ages 18 months to 4 years old. The new Greenfield Learning Center provides center-based ABA therapy and Early Intervention. Outside of the center, the Greenfield team provides ABA therapy in the home and community settings.

Autism Learning Center Opens Doors in Green Bay, WI with Ribbon-Cutting Celebration

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), provider of LEARN Behavioral, officially opened the doors of its new Green Bay Learning Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Hosted by the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at WEAP’s new location at 3189 Voyager Drive, Green Bay, WI, on April 30, 2026.

During the ceremony, Senator André Jacque and Mayor Eric Genrich shared remarks. Annika Osell, Member Engagement Manager of the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, and Ben Delie, Alderman for District 10, also shared remarks. Members of the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce and other guests were in attendance.

Ribbon-cutting attendees were able to tour the facility, enjoy light refreshments, and meet WEAP’s leadership team: Kerry Hoops, MA, BCBA, Regional Clinical Director; Samantha Bernard, Associate Regional Director; and Jamie Schuh, BCBA, Community Director for Green Bay.

“We’re honored to be part of this community and grateful to offer life-changing services right here in Green Bay,” said Samantha Bernard. “Our new Learning Center was designed to support both individual growth and peer collaboration. It’s a place where children can gain essential skills—and where their journey toward success in school and life begins.”

WEAP is Wisconsin’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) provider of center-based autism services for children. The new Sheboygan Learning Center provides center-based ABA therapy and the Better Together Youth Club, a social skills program. Outside of the Learning Center, the Sheboygan team offers in-home ABA therapy.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce was held on April 7, 2026. Jamie Schuh, Center Director at WEAP Sheboygan, shared greetings and remarks. During the ceremony, Deidre Martinez, CEO of the Sheboygan County Chamber; Amy Resop, a representative of the office of U.S. Senator Ron Johnson; State Representative Joe Sheehan; and Mayor Ryan Sorenson shared remarks. Members of the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce and other guests were in attendance.

WEAP Interdisciplinary Autism Services Learning Center in Madison offers a learning-rich, supportive environment. Wisconsin Early Autism Project Celebrates 30th Anniversary

The Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), the first provider of applied behavior analysis (ABA) in the state of Wisconsin, recently celebrated their 30th Anniversary milestone.

WEAP has grown to become a world-renowned leader in early diagnosis and treatment for children with autism. Their evidence-based approach to care has helped thousands of children with autism throughout Wisconsin. WEAP is part of LEARN Behavioral and is dedicated to nurturing the potential of children with autism through contemporary ABA, which treats every child as unique and considers family and caregivers a core part of treatment.

Helping children and families find success, WEAP’s 900 dedicated staff members throughout the state deliver personalized ABA therapy at 15 Learning Centers currently, which will increase to 21 Learning Centers in the near future.

According to Linda Klotz, Regional Clinical Director for the Milwaukee region, “WEAP has impacted many lives throughout our 30 years. Our families and their children have flourished because of the commitment of WEAP’s services, and clinicians have grown into strong leaders because of the dedication from their mentors at WEAP throughout the years.”

A 30th anniversary celebration with 100 in attendance was held in Madison, WI, home to two WEAP Learning Center locations. Justin Funches, President of Autism Services, delivered the celebratory toast to WEAP. In a special awards ceremony, WEAP recognized staff members Kris Van Handel, Katie Jacobs, Jamie Schuh, and Ellisa Wilbur for 15 years of service; Debbie Hultquist for 20 years of service, Heather Martyn and Rebecca Thompson for 25 years of service; Justin Sallows for 28 years of service, and Kimberly Wroblewski for 30 years of service. Additionally, and posthumously, WEAP recognized Lynn Thompson for 22 years of service. The award was accepted by her husband, John Thompson.

WEAP has center-based ABA therapy Learning Centers in Altoona, Brookfield, Glendale, Janesville, Madison, Madison South, Mount Pleasant, Oak Creek, Oshkosh, Reedsburg, Sun Prairie, and West Bend, and continues to expand. Over the past few months, WEAP has opened the doors of two new Learning Centers at 5369 N 118th Court in Milwaukee (Menomonee Falls) and 408 Red Cedar Street in Menomonie, WI. Additional Learning Centers in Beloit, East Green Bay, Greenfield, Kenosha, Sheboygan, and Stevens Point will open later this year and early 2026.

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), providers of LEARN Behavioral, are proud to announce the grand opening of its new Menomonie Learning Center, 408 Red Cedar Street, Suite 1 & 2, Menomonie, WI 54751.

WEAP, now in its 30th year, has become a world-renowned leader in early diagnosis and treatment for children with autism. Their evidence-based approach to care has helped thousands of children with autism throughout Wisconsin.

WEAP is Menomonie’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) provider of center-based autism services for children. The new Menomonie Learning Center provides center-based ABA therapy, in-home ABA therapy, Early Intervention, Social Skills Programs, and parent education. 

A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Menomonie Area Chamber & Visitor Center was held on October 2, 2025. During the ceremony, Menomonie Mayor Randy Knaack shared greetings and remarks. State Representative Clint Moses was in attendance, as was Ashley DeMuth, CEO of the Menomonie Area Chamber, along with Melissa Anderson, Amanda Boyce, and other chamber members.

Ribbon-cutting attendees had an opportunity to tour the facility and meet WEAP’s leadership team, Center Director Brittany Schumacher, MS, BCBA, LBA, and Regional Clinical Director Cassie Sedlacek, LCSW.

“We are excited to expand our services and have the opportunity to partner with new families throughout Dunn County,” said Cassie Sedlacek. “We value being a part of the Menomonie community and look forward to collaborating with fellow organizations and professionals to help find success for every child in our care.” 

With no waitlist and flexible treatment hours to accommodate busy family schedules, the center is now enrolling new clients in the Dunn County area and beyond.
