WEAP welcomes families to their new location.

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), provider of LEARN Behavioral, recently held a ribbon-cutting celebration at its new Stevens Point Learning Center at 200 Division Street, Suite D, Stevens Point, WI 54481.

Hosted by the Portage County Business Council, the ribbon-cutting celebration was held on June 11, 2026.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sarah Agena, Community Engagement Coordinator of the Portage County Business Council, along with Senator Patrick Testin, State Representative Vincent Miresse, and Mayor Mike Wiza, shared greetings and remarks. Members of the Portage County Business Council and other guests were in attendance.

Ribbon-cutting attendees toured the facility, enjoyed light refreshments, and met the WEAP Stevens Point leadership team, Cassie Sedlacek, LCSW, Regional Clinical Director, and Erin Junemann, Center Director.

WEAP is Wisconsin’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) provider of center-based autism services for children ages 2 to 6 years old. The Stevens Point Learning Center provides center-based ABA, parent education, Early Intervention, Social Skills Programs, and weekend hours (Saturday Squad). Their center-based services also include a school readiness program.

The Stevens Point Learning Center offers flexible treatment hours to accommodate busy family schedules. There is no waitlist. The center is conveniently located within walking distance to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and easily accessible for families in the region.

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) and Total Spectrum, providers of LEARN Behavioral, are proud to announce the grand opening of its new Greenfield Learning Center at 4131 W Loomis Rd., Suite 100, Greenfield, WI 53221.

WEAP and Total Spectrum are Greenfield’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) providers of center-based autism services for children ages 18 months to 4 years old. The new Greenfield Learning Center provides center-based ABA therapy and Early Intervention. Outside of the center, the Greenfield team provides ABA therapy in the home and community settings.

“Our Greenfield Learning Center was established to meet the high demand for ABA autism services in southeastern Wisconsin,” said Heather Bania, BSc, WEAP Senior Regional Clinical Director – Milwaukee Region.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with new families throughout greater Greenfield to help find success for every child in our care,” Brooke Marcellis, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA, Regional Clinical Director of Total Spectrum.

Autism Learning Center Opens Doors in Green Bay, WI with Ribbon-Cutting Celebration

WEAP welcomes families to their new location.

Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), provider of LEARN Behavioral, officially opened the doors of its new Green Bay Learning Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Hosted by the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at WEAP’s new location at 3189 Voyager Drive, Green Bay, WI, on April 30, 2026.

During the ceremony, Senator André Jacque and Mayor Eric Genrich shared remarks. Annika Osell, Member Engagement Manager of the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, and Ben Delie, Alderman for District 10, also shared remarks. Members of the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce and other guests were in attendance.

Ribbon-cutting attendees were able to tour the facility, enjoy light refreshments, and meet WEAP’s leadership team: Kerry Hoops, MA, BCBA, Regional Clinical Director; Samantha Bernard, Associate Regional Director; and Jamie Schuh, BCBA, Community Director for Green Bay.

“We’re honored to be part of this community and grateful to offer life-changing services right here in Green Bay,” said Samantha Bernard. “Our new Learning Center was designed to support both individual growth and peer collaboration. It’s a place where children can gain essential skills—and where their journey toward success in school and life begins.”

“We are deeply committed to helping families thrive and honored to have such wonderful community support of our mission,” said Kerry Hoops.

WEAP is Wisconsin’s premiere contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) provider of center-based autism services for children. The new Green Bay Learning Center provides center-based ABA therapy, Early Intervention and School Readiness Programs, and behavioral sleep assessment. The center serves children ages 18 months to 6 years old. Special features of the Green Bay Learning Center include a SMART Board room, school readiness areas, gross motor space, and a large indoor play area. Outside of the center, the Green Bay team offers in-home ABA therapy. There is no waitlist, and flexible treatment hours are available to accommodate busy family schedules.

Open House in June

Families are invited to a sensory-friendly open house at the Green Bay Learning Center on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This carnival-themed event will feature engaging, summer-inspired activities for the whole family to enjoy in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Some children experience sensory sensitivities that make bright lights, loud sounds, and crowded spaces a challenge to navigate. For some families, calmer, quieter places help make outings more manageable. 

Sensory-friendly activities are designed to be quieter and more adaptable. These environments may lower lighting and sound levels, provide space to move around, and offer accommodations to support a range of needs. 

In Sheboygan, a lakeside city on Wisconsin’s eastern shore, several spots offer calm, sensory-friendly spaces. Here are five places where families can relax and explore — without sensory overload. 

1. Play and Discover at Above & Beyond Children’s Museum 

Looking for a hands-on learning space that feels welcoming? The Above & Beyond Children’s Museum in downtown Sheboygan features interactive exhibits designed for curious kids. On select days, the museum offers sensory-friendly hours with reduced lighting and sound, creating a calmer experience. 

Tip for Families: Visit during sensory-friendly hours, or call ahead to ask about accommodations. 

2. Explore Nature at Kohler-Andrae State Park 

If your child feels more comfortable outdoors, Kohler-Andrae State Park offers plenty of peaceful options. Located along Lake Michigan, it features quiet hiking trails, sandy beaches, and open space for kids to roam at their own pace. 

Tip for Families: Weekday mornings are especially quiet. A Wisconsin State Park admission sticker is required for vehicle entry. 

3. Read and Recharge at Mead Public Library 

The Mead Public Library offers a calm, inviting space with cozy corners and soft lighting in the children’s section.  

Tip for Families: Ask at the desk about upcoming sensory-friendly programs. 

4. Play Freely at Evergreen Park 

Evergreen Park provides wide open green space, shaded picnic areas, and paved trails. It’s a great spot for unstructured play or quiet time in nature.  

Tip for Families: The accessible Shaw Family Playground is right next door. The inclusive play space is designed for children of all abilities and is a popular destination for families. 

5. Attend a Sensory-Friendly Show at Marcus Theaters 

Marcus Theaters Sheboygan Cinema regularly offers sensory-friendly movie screenings. These showings have lower sound, gentle lighting and a more relaxed environment for those with sensory needs.  

Tip for Families: If you need additional assistance with accommodations, reach out to the theatre about its “Reel Movies for Real Needs” program and schedule.
